Our Story
I bet you are wondering where in the world Anchor Lake is. Well truth be
told there is a real place, but I have never actually been. I came up with Anchor Lake Melting Co. because I
wanted a name with meaning that I would never want to change. ANCHOR originated from being a Navy wife for 6 years but it has become connected to so much more. It reminds me how I am anchored by the Lord and his word. There have been many times where I find that I am falling short or not close enough to Him and this very word changes my mind frame. I am so blessed to have 4 daughters. They are where I derived the word LAKE from. Each of their first initials combined spell the word LAKE. This felt extremely fitting as I have always found peace by
any body of water. I chose the word MELTING because almost all of our products go through a process of being melted to become the fragrance you know and love. COMPANY is defined as “the fact or condition of being with another or others, especially in a way that provides friendship and enjoyment.” This is exactly what I have found since founding this business. I have been connected with so many amazing souls I wouldn’t have otherwise met had I not stepped out of my comfort zone. I am so thankful you took the time to read the story behind the name of Anchor Lake Melting Co.
How it all started-
Believe it or not all of this came to fruition thanks to a $100 gift card I
received one Christmas. Being a stay at home mom and military wife, along with
having once been a teen mom, I needed to find myself again. I forgot what made
me, me. Quite honestly I missed out on the critical part in life where you
experience self discovery, due to having my first daughter at 18. Fast forward
to being 28 years old at the time, and desperate to find a hobby for myself. I
often found I could tell you more about my husband and kids than myself. I had
poured all my time and love into my children and husband, that I lost myself in
the mix. That's when I decided to use a $100 gift card on candle making
supplies. From that moment on I've been able to find myself again one candle at
a time.
Our Why
My four daughters are my biggest inspiration and the heart behind everything I do. They are my reason why — the reason I work hard, dream big, and pour my passion into building this business. My 6-year-old daughter, who is on the autism spectrum, has especially inspired me to create something lasting — a place where she, and each of her sisters, can one day find meaningful employment and feel truly valued. It’s not just about creating a business; it’s about building a future where my girls can grow, thrive, and be a part of something we built together as a family.
