Hi,

I'm Karissa, founder of Anchor Lake Melting Co. Believe it or not this all came to fruition thanks to a $100 gift card I received one Christmas. Being a stay at home mom and military wife, along with having once been a teen mom, I needed to find myself again. I forgot what made me, me. Quite honestly I missed out on the critical part in life where you experience self discovery, due to having my first daughter at 18. Fast forward to being 28 years old at the time, and desperate to find a hobby for myself. I often found I could tell you more about my husband and kids than myself. I had poured all my time and love into my children and husband, that I lost myself in the mix. That's when I decided to use a $100 gift card on candle making supplies. From that moment on I've been able to find myself again one candle at a time.

Not only have I discovered a love of candle making but also a passion in handcrafting concrete vessels. Unfortunately, with an ever-growing venture I found that continuing concrete for our entire line was not sustainable. But, I hope to bring limited run collections possibly in the future.

One of my favorite parts of running my business is doing markets and connecting directly with customers. I love seeing their reactions smelling all the scents I've meticulously curated. Of course I love bringing my oldest along for the adventure and teaching her the ropes too!

It's been an amazing year in business and I can't believe how Anchor Lake has grown!
